Presentation of exhibitions by art/design/ architect students
2012-05-20 13:00-14:30

Presentation of the exhibitions by art/design/architecture students. Each of the three presentations takes about 30 min. Welcome to listen to one of them, or all three.

The graduation exhibitions from the Academy of Fine Arts have been exhibited in Bildmuseet each spring for many years, but this year we also present student projects from the School of Architecture and the Institute of Design. As a manifestation of Bildmuseets new place and context, and with hopes for exciting future collaborations, we have invited the three schools to fill one floor each as we inaugurate the new building.
Twenty Twelve (As We Know It) is the title of Umeå Academy of Fine Arts' graduation exhibition 2012. We will meet a diversity of perspectives and languages as the fresh graduates present themselves. Curators of the exhibition are Aileen Burns and Johan Lundh.
In the exhibition Work in Progress, Umeå School of Architecture gives an insight into how structure, materials, light, motion and activity are used in the creation of architectural space.
Umeå Institute of Design's exhibition What if ... is about
collaboration, innovation, user-centered design, which is what
their education focuses on.

Presentation by artist Mauricio Corbalan from m7red, Buenos Aires. He will explain m7red's ways of working and also present research done for their 'glocal' map in the exhibition Communitas at Bildmuseet.

Based in Buenos Aires, m7red is an urban resources network with archives, laboratories and consulting offices. m7red was founded by Mauricio Corbalan and Pio Torroja in 2005. Since then, they have been working with a wide range of experts and non-experts, analyzing, discussing, researching and making proposals on the most pressing political and urban topics. They are working on the boundaries between a research group, urban consulting and a strategic forum.
