SWEDISH PICTURE BOOK OF THE YEAR / WHERE´S MY EGG
Where’s my egg? wonders a handsome hen whose egg has suddenly sprouted legs and wandered off blindly. It has tumbled into a hole in the ground, making its way through dark tunnels, encountering both friendly and fearsome creatures: a badger, a group of rabbits, a snake, fox cubs and a lizard… Meanwhile, the hen searches anxiously above ground.
The wordless story Where’s My Egg? was named the best Swedish picture book of 2025 and awarded the national prize Snöbollen. This exhibition presents the original artworks in oil pastel and scratch technique. The picture book maker Julia Groth received the award in spring 2026 during Littfest, Umeå International Literature Festival.
Julia Groth (b. 1988) is based in Järvsö, Sweden.
