Runmarö

2002-10-27 to 2003-01-26

This exhibition concerns the book Runmarö, which is a unique and close collaboration between the artist Jan Persson and the poet Tomas Tranströmer.

This hand-made book contains 15 etchings and 30 poems and takes its point of departure in the landscape of Runmarö, an island in Stockholm’s archipelago, where Jan Persson created his nature images. Tranströmer has his roots on the island and many of his poems are written with nature and life on the island as a common theme.

The book has been produced as a limited edition with 100 numbered and signed copies. An English translation by Robin Fulton is also available, as is a Chinese edition translated by Li Li.

The exhibition catalogue includes texts by Jan Persson, Fredrik Sjöberg, Niklas Schiöler, and Bengt Emil Johnson.
